5 Things You Don’t Know About Me
by Bryan on December 24th, 2006
As I was cruising the net yesterday, I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Grahams, Go Clipless.com. Its typically where I end up after hitting the blogs that handle gear reviews and such. My comment about Grahams post on Dick Pound, the head of the World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA) got me “tagged” requiring I post “5 things you don’t know about me”.
Ok, ok. I will play that game… but for all you lurkers out there, be sure to start posting some comments. I know you are all out there reading this stuff.
(above) On set for Mission Impossible 3 - high speed filming of a fuse burning. Whoo hoo, playing with fire and getting paid to do it!
*1. I have spent 10 years working as a 3d visual effects and graphic design animator for the film/television industry.* While I was getting Evomo launched last year, I finished work on Mission Impossible 3 and Ant Bully over the summer before I headed off to Interbike with my business partners. Its quite a cool job (glamorous) and I definitely enjoy the work and the prestige. Plus it helps pay the bills while Evomo gets fully launched.
*2. Ever since my daughter was born 4 years ago, my mountain biking skills got incredibly weak.* I realized that I was now a father and the responsibility that went with it was greater than anything I could ever imagine. Due to this, I now take fewer risks and find myself enjoying the cross country rides at a more leisurely pace. I do like to get out and really hammer it and have recently read Mastering Mountain Bike Skills by Brian Lopes, Lee McCormack, which should help me regain some confidence.
*3. I secretly want to race* the Transrockies, La Ruta in Puerto Rico and the Temple To Temple race in Belize. Considering my #2 thing you don’t know about me… I need to get some serious training in place before hitting any of those events but, hey what an experience that would be!
*4. I live in Los Angeles and have serious love/hate relationship going with this city.* I really hate the people… considering their are 13 million people living here, the ratio of genuinely nice people to total jerk-off-ass-holes is quite high (on the jerk side of things). Some days I just want to get in my car and drive far, far, far away from here. The grass does seem greener (literally) when I think about how nice I could be to live in a remote area of Colorado or Montana. Big sky country here I come.
*5. I have removed most (close to all) of any food product from my diet that contains any corn syrup - high fructose or other.* Not that I was fat. I just realized from much reading and research by my wife that we can consume better food… fuel for our bodies that will hopefully lead to a better quality and more healthy lifestyle. I have said good bye to bad fats, transfat, saturated fats and replaced them with good fats. Its a good thing!
That about wraps up my 5 things. Apparently I am obligated to tag 5 other bloggers.
