My Night Before the Race didn’t go so well…

I just found out (realized) that there is a DH mountain bike race tomorrow and it starts at 10:30 am. A pro rider would have eaten a well balanced meal and made sure that sleep would be a major priority before a race. I am not a pro rider. I am not even an expert rider. I thought I was pretty good but I have my doubts. Tonight changed all that. I worked all day. No big deal but then I went out with Bruce, Bryan, Mel, Sedrik and some friends that we like to ride with. We were in Hollywood having some dinner and we ended up at the Laugh Factory (comedy club on Sunset Blvd.) where we saw Aries Spears, Al Del Bene , Maz Jobrani , & Dane Cook.
In between some dinner and the show I found myself with the group in a good old Hollywood liquor store. One reason I can think of why America is so wonderful is that we have 2 amazing products called Red Bull and Coca Cola. The liquor store around the corner sells Red Bull. While standing there in the store Sedrik noticed that the great makers of such a wonderful product decided that 8.5 fluid ounces is just not enough for the average person so they increased to a full 12.5 fl ounces. Once we got into the club I didn’t not want start mixing my beer and red bull so instead of ordering water, which would have made some sense, I ordered a Coke followed by several more cokes. Did I say beer and Red Bull? Who ever heard of bud light and red bull, not exactly a Hollywood drink… more like a Tennessee night out of the trailer drink.
The time is now 2:12am and I am home. I should be asleep however the Red Bulls are successfully integrated into my blood stream right now. I WANT to go to sleep, but the makers of these great drinks now make that impossible and since I would not be able to retain any information from any book I have now decided to write this blog entry. This may turn out to be a big mistake do to the fact that I am absolutely overdosing on so much caffeine, coke and the remnants of beer and so little food. I still have to race in later today - early today and I feel the pain already. I think I need to take a leak or something. be right back. I cant find my phone.
OK. I am back. That turned out to be more than just taking a leak. Uh lets. see its 2:50am now. I think I was talking about America and stuff. Ok. Yeah.. What else makes this country so great is technology. Not only do I get to type on a computer that sends messages faster than I can ride but I get to listen to an ipod that plays only the greatest songs in the world (as far I’ am concerned because I downlowded them myself from my favorite CD’s). While I am typing, I am listening to music and above my head is a 50 inch plasma T.V. playing an incredible erotic adult film DVD that allows you to pause fast forward and pause the best scenes all on a surround sound system that would nock your socks off and makes the actresses seem like they are in the same room as me. Man, is she hot. hold on a sec. Yeah I cant find the DVD case. Also lets not forget that I get to ride in the morning, one of the most incredibly advanced mountain bikes that has come to market - that is if I can sleep and make it to the race in the morning. I know the guys at Evomo would like me to show up and ride for once. Maybe they will forgive me after reading how rough of a night I had… besides if it wasn’t for Bruce’s BIrthday we would not have been out “partying”, and thanks to Sedrik for encouraging me to overdose on Red Bulls.
I am so sick in the head and I can’t seem to sleep and have no desire even if I could sleep this morning for reasons I have described above. I want to thank all you electronic engineers and wonderful directors for allowing all this to happen, all in this great country of ours. On behalf of all of us that know how to use this technology to our founding fathers we are so glad that you risked your lives so that we could enjoy what America has to offer.
