Evomo’s Matt Connors 4th in Nova TT

Evomo MTB Team racer Matt Connors flew around the Nova National TT course on Friday to place 4th in the Expert 19-24 category. He looks poised to place in the top 10 in Sunday’s XC race. Good luck Matt!

Last weekend at the final race of the Southridge Winter down hill series, Evomo rider Shea Jordan grabbed 1st place which launched him to 3rd place overall for the series in points.

The Lone Ranger….. rides alone. Today we were all set to hit Los Robles. By all I mean Zach, Brandon, Mikel, Bryan, Scott and myself. Of course, I probably should have figured in the day after St. Patrick’s Day factor.

The new team kits have arrived and they look awesome. The pictures really don’t do them justice, they look even better in person. Sunday’s ride was a hill climbing fest from the Las Virgenes trailhead up to the Alberson fireroad overlooking Simi Valley and back. All in all, it is not a lot of miles coming in at around 18 or so, but there is about 4000 feet of climbing and today it was HOT!
The temperatures were easily in the 90’s and earlier in the week it barely broke into the 60’s. That’s not easy to adapt to. I find it takes me a good 2 weeks of riding in the typically super hot western SF/Canejo Valley summer to feel like I’ve got any legs or lungs.

Lets just pretend that I did race in the race I told you about in my last blog. Since we are all pretending lets pretend that I am in much better shape than I really am. Let’s say that my lung capacity holds hugh amounts of oxygen and that my quads are the size of tree trunks and lets make the trees Redwoods. Oh, and since we are in a perfect world, then I would come in
NorCal Racers Take 2nd & 4th

Evomo Sponsored rider David Lowe sent us this race report from Northern California (aka: NorCal).
The course was pretty flat and had maybe only 600ft of climbing. At the start it was on a road going up hill. A group of 7 or so of us broke away at the start of the single track. I was in the back getting a good draft off of everyone. It was sandy, flat, boring, all the climbs were less that 30secs, no technical at all – meaning there was no rocks or ruts to navigate.
This was probably one of the hardest races for me. I’m better off
Before Fontana DH #5

Well its the day before Southridge Fontana Race and I’m feeling good about todays practice and the race day.
Its supposed to be in the 90s tomorrow so we should be in for a very sweaty ride and the pads will need to be washed. I’ll Up date this on monday… stay tuned.
