The Lone Ranger….

The Lone Ranger….. rides alone. Today we were all set to hit Los Robles. By all I mean Zach, Brandon, Mikel, Bryan, Scott and myself. Of course, I probably should have figured in the day after St. Patrick’s Day factor. First was a text from Zach who had a bit too much fun the night before. Then as I turned onto the freeway to get to the trailhead, Bryan called to say he was swamped with responsibilities at home. A little further down the freeway Mikel called with bike trouble and he was out too. To be fair to Brandon and Scott, I never did get a confirmation that they were coming and I waited at the trailhead for 10 minutes past the hour just in case figuring that there was a very slim chance that they would show. They didn’t.
No problem, it was a fantastic morning for a ride to I hit the dirt solo. I wanted to get in a lot of long slow climbing to try to maintain some form after weeks of working 6 day weeks, 12 hours a day with an early call time. The schedule for Pirates Of The Carribean 3 is taking it’s toll on me. Where I would usually be riding 6 days a week this time of year I have been riding 2 if I’m lucky. This is no good for my conditioning both physically or mentally. I am completely off of my normal routine and it is bumming me out big time.
I was really excited to be finally wearing my new Evomo team kit. The stuff turned out great. The shorts are very comfy and the full zip jersey fits well and has a very soft feel to it. Pactimo turns out some great stuff.
The ride was nice even though I decided to cut it a bit short because I really wasn’t feeling it after an hour and a half. I know there will be plenty of good riding coming up this year. I will be back into my 6 day a week groove right after Pirates wraps about 5 or 6 weeks from now.
