Getting Dirty At Firestone

The project I have been working on since November is finally winding down which gave me a chance to catch the second day of activities at this year’s Firestone Santa Ynez Mountain Bike Classic.

“They all can’t be sunny rides.� Said the guy next to me as we made the climb up the final ridge to laguna Seca. I had been trailing him for the past half mile and finally caught up to him. It was the day before I raced at Sea Otter and the rain was pouring down like it had last year. The water whipped the right side of my face as we rode and I couldn’t get a good look at the guy but we continued to talk as we finished the last couple miles of the ride.
Sunday as I lined up I looked at my competition and thought “There are way less people then at NOVA, I got top 20 in the bag.� We took off from the line to a thundering applause from the crowed yelling and pounding

Today is Sunday the final day of the Sea Otter Classic and unlike yesterday the sky has not a cloud in it and the sun is shinning bright. It is quite chilly and definitely muddy. We saw the weather report for Saturday was a chance of rain before noon with some showers over night on Friday. We woke up to a wet morning with skies clearing and the sun poking through. We were really excited to have a beautiful saturday as the tempature was warming up but then around 10am the clouds moved in and by 10:30 the rain began to dump. What a day. We headed out to the Laguna Seca Raceway where the massive Sea Otter Classic is being held. The weather started out breezy and ended up windy. What a drag. The wind never let up and it wreaked havoc on everyone. It was sunny all day so I guess I’ll take the wind over rain which we had last year. The days started out quite slow as everyone was putting the finishing touches on their booths and picked up a bit more as more racers showed up.
We were showing off a few new things like the Evomo mens t-shirt called “flight”. Its very cool and has a lot of nice details like the embroidered appliqué effects combined with the graphic prints. Its a shirt worth

Well after 366 miles, 2 double doubles, 2 fries and some gasoline we arrived at Laguna Seca Raceway to set up the Evomo booth. The weather on the way up from Los Angeles was mostly sunny with some winds. Once at Laguna Seca it was mostly cloudy and super windy. The afternoons are notoriously windy at the race track and today was no exception. We had a heck of a time setting up the booth in the wind. We pretty much had to set up as much as we could and
