Getting Dirty At Firestone

The project I have been working on since November is finally winding down which gave me a chance to catch the second day of activities at this year’s Firestone Santa Ynez Mountain Bike Classic.

“They all can’t be sunny rides.� Said the guy next to me as we made the climb up the final ridge to laguna Seca. I had been trailing him for the past half mile and finally caught up to him. It was the day before I raced at Sea Otter and the rain was pouring down like it had last year. The water whipped the right side of my face as we rode and I couldn’t get a good look at the guy but we continued to talk as we finished the last couple miles of the ride.
Sunday as I lined up I looked at my competition and thought “There are way less people then at NOVA, I got top 20 in the bag.� We took off from the line to a thundering applause from the crowed yelling and pounding
Evomo at Sea Otter Day 4

Today is Sunday the final day of the Sea Otter Classic and unlike yesterday the sky has not a cloud in it and the sun is shinning bright. It is quite chilly and definitely muddy. One thing is for sure the wind really picked up for most of the day and keep the temperature very cold. I think if we had a choice

We saw the weather report for Saturday was a chance of rain before noon with some showers over night on Friday. We woke up to a wet morning with skies clearing and the sun poking through. We were really excited to have a beautiful saturday as the tempature was warming up but then around 10am the clouds moved in and by 10:30 the rain began to dump. When I say dump, I mean hurricane style with winds and lots and lots of rain. It was a mess. Everyone quickly
