2007 National #1

Wow what a weekend! Norba National #1, let me first start out, if you have never raced out in the desert put this race on your calendar for next year. I really believe it is the best mountain bike race of all time.. It has the best singletrack, I mean fast singletrack and of course it does have a few rocky sections. Oh and we can not leave out the heat that we out in SOCAL are not quiet used to. YET.
Well the trip out AZ on Friday was miserable. There were wild fires all over Socal backing up all the freeways leading to AZ. It was an 11 ½ hour trip WOW. Good thing I brought my BALLs
NOVA Phoenix Nationals Report

This past weekend was the first Norba National race of the season. It was held in Fountain Hills Arizona, at McDowell Mountain Park’ which happens to be like my home course. Friday was the time trial, Saturday was the Super D and Sunday was the XC race.
The TT was 6 miles, super fast and a lot of fun. There was a short little climb, but other then that it was flat. I was feeling good and strong before the race. They lined us up and had us start 30 seconds apart. Right before I started I told myself not to let the rider behind me pass me and I just keeped telling myself that during the race. I knew the trail so I went for it and pulled off a 4th place finish. I was pretty happy with the result. At the podium I took a look at the guys that beat me and thought to myself I can beat them tomorrow.
So Saturday comes around and my legs are feeling ok from yesterday, but I’m ready to go and get this going. An hour before the race I find out that they separted everything by age not class, so I was racing 19-29 open men. At the start line all the pain in my legs goes
