French Creek State Park is much larger than Marsh Creek. Our trail head was at the East Entrance past the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. With over 7000 acres you would figure that would a lot of trails but most of them are actually closed off to mountain biking. We were limited to the trails in the northern section of the park which was just fine.

Now about the race, BCSP is a flowing bunch of single track with moderate climbs throughout. If you can climb, you’ll like BCSP. It is also a fairly fast course due to the incredible flow designed into the course. The turn-out for the race was above average, as many people enjoy the trails at BCSP. The heat played a factor in the race as temps climbed into

Right at the start we were climbing a very steep section which had about 4-5 switch backs. In addition to that the switchbacks were had some really loose
