Turner Test Ride

by Brandon Bittorf on August 21st, 2007

I wanted to drop a quick blog about our new Turner. I went out on a 25 mile test ride and all I have to say it is the best bike I have ever ridden. Being pretty new to the sport of mountain biking I have never ridden a 22lb full suspension bike that is truly a bullet. My bike is fully supported by some really terrific sponsors. Let me start with of course, we all know are killer frames are right here in our back yards of SOCAL, Turner Bikes and the wheels are so smooth, fast and stealth from stans no tubes. Tires I just can not stop talking about that smb8 (tubless) on the rear and the Blue groove(tubeless) that I run on the front, directly from John Tomac over at Kenda, man that Blue groove has got some bight. The Cock pit is fully supported by SRAM. I was such a true “V-Brake rider” before getting in the saddle of my new Turner. Man I salute everybody that told me, “Once you go disc, you will never go back.” So true, so smooth.. Also a big thank you to our sponsors FRM and Crank Brothers with that great combo it only makes things that much more faster.

Also I wanted to let you know that what really brings a team together is something that is never mentioned out there. Friendship, camaraderie and true teamwork. We here at EVOMO may be a small team but we are an elite special ops team only, that get things done. I really want to give a big thank you to Bryan for giving us this great opportunity and bringing this EVOMO TEAM together I look forward to a very stealth and elite 2008. I would also like to put a huge thank you out there to Rob who took the time out of his hectic life to build our team bikes. By having a teammate/friend build your bike and to hang out with in 105 degrees, it just brings the team together even closer. Thank you.

Oh I can not believe that I forgot to thank Sedrik. Which is funny, he was actually traveling S/B PCH while was N/B PCH in the “Adventure Bootcamp” Scion. He was flagging me down, he has an eye for us. We ended up at Neptunes talking about the new Turners and the and is recent adventures. After quiet a few Arrogant Bastards, Sedrik let some 2008 secrets out. Stay tuned for something I think he called the “2008 Hurl Classic MTB XC race”. Right here in SOCAL..I guess it originated over in Europe.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the 22lb Turner, Nitrous… The bike f…ing rips. Now, let’s get them all together and race the Hurk 24hour event.

If you need dents I will trade you mine or you can go ride the virgin river rim trail in south Utah, where a small rock will fly up and dent your down tube. It was worth it…

Blue, hit me up so we can schedule the 24hour event, and get me some shifters. I broke a pair of XO thumbs and hate my XO grip shifts (too hard to learn. I am willing to trade grip shifts for thumbs and I will get you a new SDG saddle or a Jenna Jameson poster,

    Keep riding!

I recently received a Nitrous frame from my sponsor at Turner Bikes and I couldn’t agree with you more. WHAT A FRAME. Geometry couln’t be better for me, chainstay is a great concept, rp23 makes it all come together and did I mention it was light!!!

I used this bike at the 24 hour nationals in my hometown of wausau, wi and on that rocky climber friendly course, I only needed one bike to be competitive in the national championships. I have also podiumed in my last two races including a win in my last marathon race.

    Enjoy the ride….I have!
