by Bryan on September 30th, 2007

6am in las vegas as we head to breakfast with the evomo team

Well Rob and I headed out to Las Vegas late Thursday night to do some business at Interbike on Friday. We made it out in about 4 hours which had us rolling in around 12:30am only to have to get up bright and early at 6am to meet up with DH team rider, Brett Miller and XC team rider Matt Connors…

Interbike is like the Super Bowl

by Sedrik Vomir on September 26th, 2007

interbike in las vegas is the orgy of mountain bikers and sex kittens

Just in case you are wondering what Interbike is exactly, well its a massive orgy of cycling products and companies convening on the uber-infamous sin-city, Las Vegas, Nevada. I say its like the Super Bowl because in our little world its the biggest thing that goes down all year and not everyone gets to go. In this case, you cant even watch it on TV, but all of bike geeks with day jobs and access to the internet hover around our glowing screens reading post after post in blogs like Sick Lines, Mountain Bike Riders, MTBR and twentyNineInches.com. Plus, just like the Super Bowl you can even see nipple but much better…

Interbike (day two) dirt demo

by Brett Miller on September 25th, 2007

Today was in the 90’s and had about twice the people and hustle as yesterday in Bootleg Canyon. The lines for the shuttle truck were quite long all day long and the smell of BBQ was lingering all day.

Interbike (Day one) dirt demo

by Brett Miller on September 25th, 2007

So I left Tahoe at about 5 in the afternoon and headed for las vegas. After about 7 hours of mach 5 travel in my little go cart of a SUV, I hit Vegas at 2:30 in the morning. Ready for bed I staggered over to the hotel front desk and was trying to check in but the gal behind the counter told me I couldn’t check in until 7 am. So I made 500 bucks at the roulette table until 7 and finally went to bed. I woke up around 9 and headed out to the dirt demo on the other side of town. The weather was perfect and the turnout was

Evomo Rider Profile: Michael Takahashi

by Bryan on September 21st, 2007

Michael Takahashi at Firestone Santa Ynez NMBS

Michael Takahashi is the latest rider to join the Evomo DH Team for 2008. Recently he and Brett Miller both won the overall points in the beginner/sport FOX Racing SHOX Downhill category at the Nationals at Sugar Mountain. This is a great accomplishment for both Takahashi and Miller and its an awesome motivator for taking it to the next level in the 2008 season.

The other day we had a chance to learn a bit about what Michael Takahashi has been up to and where he is going. He always loved riding bicycles as a kid and grew up riding BMX bikes and building jump ramps with his friends. Here is a little interview…

Old bikes still go fast.

by Clint Hosman on September 19th, 2007

bikes-01.jpg

So here in AZ you have to get out early to beat the heat in September. Yea it sucks but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger….and angrier like say when you and your training partner get jumped by 20 roadies rolling on tubular tires and 7000 dollar bikes. Let it be known that the Hosman brothers while good mountain bikers who take great pride in our Blingtastick mountain bikes are not so hip to the road side of things. I ride a 2002 Scattante from SuperGo that I am proud to say has never seen the in side of a shop from the day she was bought. Travis is rockin a 1995 Lemond Steel frame with eight speed. The road has been a means to an end and not…

About three weeks ago Pro-Mountain Bike Racer Tara Llanes crashed at the Jeep King of the Mountain race in Vail, Colorado. She also has a C-7 fracture which was deemed stable prior going into surgery.

The Weight Weenie Nitrous

by Rob Blue on September 13th, 2007

evomo_sub_20.jpg

I love my Turner Nitrous. I have been riding and racing this bike for 2 years now and there’s no end in sight. This frame is the foundation but I am always remodeling it by swapping out parts. It keeps me from getting distracted by all of the new carbon bike propaganda. Sure, I’ve kept up with the news on all of the carbon bikes out there but as of right now, for the money, you really can’t find a better XC rig than the Nitrous.
