Interbike Wrap Up
by Bryan on September 30th, 2007
Well Rob and I headed out to Las Vegas late Thursday night to do some business at Interbike on Friday. We made it out in about 4 hours which had us rolling in around 12:30am only to have to get up bright and early at 6am to meet up with Evomo DH team rider, Brett Miller and Evomo U23 XC team rider Matt Connors.
Brian from Mountain Flyer magazine… my new favorite magazine. Its only published 4 times a year, but its thick and chock full of photos and excellent articles that will keep you busy enough until the next one comes out.
Stans No Tubes has some super secret new wheels sets that are even lighter and stronger than the ZTR Olympics. Simply amazing what Stan’s brain comes up with. He told us how the aerospace manufacturing companies told him it would never work… yet they do and the list of pro mountain bike riders that are lining up to use them will impress you.
Jeff Kerkove from Ergon shares his technique for taking pictures for his blog while he is riding. By the way the Ergon packs are hella-dope… they fit 100oz bladders, have rain covers and fit on your back like a glove and feel like they weigh nothing.
We stoped by Tifosi eyewear to see what the hell was up. Shannon told us that we looked like rock stars on the bike with our Tifosis’. Personally I agree. By the way the Dolomites are sill my favorite.
Sock Guy’s limited edition interbike sock. Did they go to far this time? Naaaah.
Ryan from Sock Guy listens to Brett explain why so many hot chicks at the show were giving him the bird.
Some dude with his Ride Clean tank top…. HOT!
the Santa Cruz V10 outfitted with the X-Fusion Delta Eight fork… the same bike Brett Miller jumped of the Venetian Steps the day before.
Saturday we had some breakfast at the Original Pancake house in North Las Vegas and then headed out to the Hoover Dam. This thing is an amazing feat of engineering and huge! It was completed in 1935, well before computers were around to help.
After our drive across the dam, we headed out to Boot Leg Canyon where the Interbike Dirt Demo was held a few days earlier. What a cool place. Lots of climbing, but its rewarded very nicely with some excellent fast single track. At first it was a bit sketchy, but as I rode I found that the very sharp and jaggy rocks acted like sand paper. My Kenda Nevegals grabed on so well I was hardly ever worried about slipping on the rocks and falling. [read last years interbike 2006 road trip here]
We hit Aurelio’s Pizza after the ride and chowed down on some excellent pizza… direct from Chicago. Then it was time for the 4 hour drive back to Los Angeles which was traffic free.

Interbike was sick this year. I acquired a lot of cool junk and will soon have pictures and reviews about a lot of it at the site. I hope you guys had fun and wish I would have ran into you.
Get your butts out to the local cyclocross races. I am posting reviews of the series and already have had a lot of people visit the site. Now, it is your turn so you can obtain the season schedule.
I hope to see you this weekend at the Redline Cup in LA!

CX is awesome, even when you get your butt kicked!
