What is IMBA?

I just got my IMBA membership kit in the mail the other day. IMBA is the International Mountain Bike Association. They create and preserve trails worldwide and keep access open for us to ride them. IMBA has prevented countless trails from being closed to mountain biking and have even opened some trails where there were none existed for anyone, even hikers.
Their website and materials emphasize 4 key points:
Speak - let your voice be heard
Build - new trails and maintenance current ones
Respect - the natural environment and stay on the trails
Ride - of course, get out and enjoy an epic ride
I know everyone associated with Evomo and our Evomo Team are firm believers in all of the above. We definitely want to set an example when out riding, especially to the non-mountain bikers we encounter on the trails. Whether it be a hiker or horseback rider out enjoying the same beautiful landscapes as us, we need to remember to yield to them and politely let them pass before we continue on our singletrack adventures of speed and adrenaline. Its the right thing to do and in the end, just a minute to slow down and even stop, say hello and then continue on will keep the trails open to mountain bikers.
