Willem Cooper’s Plattekill Race Report
by Evomo Sponsored Rider on May 5th, 2008
On May 3rd and 4th Plattekill Mountain Held the first race of the east coast gravity season. This weekend was also the second to last chance for the Jr X racers to qualify for the Wold Championship in Italy later in the season. As expected it rained almost all weekend, However for this track it kept in really tacky and fast. The weekends track was designed by Delta House Racing. They did a really good job.
Plattekill is know for having harsh and steep tracks and this one was no exception. The track had two 8ft plus drops in it and three 4ft plus drops in it. The rest of the track was fast single track. It was a blast.
This season is my second season racing pro. Last season I really struggled with my mental preparation for the races so this season I am tacking a different approach…just have fun. I trained hard all winter and am feeling really good. It really payed of this weekend. I placed 8th in pro class and was the 17th fasted racer of the day. I am really exited for this season to get under way. I hope to bring in lot more top ten results this season.

I don’t know where Willem was riding BUT it most certainly DID NOT rain all weekend, as a matter of fact it did not rain even one time when the lifts were open.
