Soooooooo, my Kona 2008 Koilair Supreme is broken! Yep, first time I’ve made this public on the web. Kona’s new Magic Link broke during a ride in Crested Butte, CO on the Reno-Bear-Flag-Deadman loop. For those of you who know the loop, you’ll ask, "Really? It broke on that ride?" Yep, I think a screw backed out and SNAP went the Magic Link. I’M BUMMED FOR SURE!!!
Now what happens next? Well, I just couldn’t go on living the life I was living. Constant singlespeed rides and rides on my 5" bike just weren’t cutting it. I wanted to find a perfect hybrid bike: one that could handle racing and that would take the backcountry abuse. What did I find? The Specialized Enduro Comp.
I have to say that so far the Enduro is one of the best XC bikes I’ve been on. It is FAST on the downhills, super quick on the turns, pedals like an oil rig (consistent, I mean) and actually gets air! The cool thing about this bike is that I’ve been able to switch some parts over from my older Stumpjumper, so I basically bought a good frame and upgraded all the other parts from my PRO model stumpy.
I’m supposed to hear back from Kona sometime soon… I hope it is sooner rather than later…
