Northstar DH Training, Norcal Style: Takahashi, Bustamante, Judy.

After numerous tries to schedule a time for all of us Evomo Norcal DH team members to ride together up at Northstar, we finally setup last Friday as a ride day for us all! Above picture from left to right: Tom Judy, Michael Takahashi, Javier Bustamante.
Too bad nobody had the sense to snap any pictures a few weeks before when we were all up at Northstar for the last race, and we were treated to being able to ride with fellow Evomo Team Rider / Pro Shea Jordan, who came all the way from Argentina to ride Tahoe’s Northstar Mt. Bike Park! Northstar has a mixture of different kinds of stuff to train on… double jumps, rocky steep descents, technical rocks, flowy trails and high speed stuff! It’s always a great day when we can all get together and have fun cruising and bombing down the mountain in our local training spot. Too bad Brett Miller decided to go to a bachelor party instead, so he could get free Rum and Cokes! Turns out Three of us made it out, Tom Judy, Javier Bustamante, and myself - Michael Takahashi.
A typical day up at Northstar involves getting a few runs in to warm up, eating lunch - getting monster burger, or burrito, lots more dh runs, and lots of screwing off and laughing with friends! Good stuff!
Javier was a little excited to hurry up and get on the trail “Livewire,” which is a fast trail with large doubles, some of the bigger ones are about 25 ft apart… anyways, since I was wanting to take some pics, Javier had to stop to let off some steam here!

After a fun day of riding, it’s always nice to hang out and relax in the new Northstar Village, which has comfy couches, beds, and chairs to lounge around in after getting your favorite drink at the starbucks which is located right next to the roller skating rink! Of course there’s a bar walk-up bar for alcoholic beverages also… Brett can usually be found here supporting Captain Morgan. Hey Miller, maybe you need to approach them and ask for sponsorship for the 09′ season!
Usually, my ritual is to scarf down on some food while driving home after riding all day. Here’s a pic of my half eaten monster sandwich… should have thought of taking the pic sooner, but I was so hungry, I forgot!

From the looks of things, Javier is Sportin the BIG WOODY, Takahashi is Sportin the BIG AIR, and B Miller is Who and WHERE ?
