Interbike or Interparty?
by Clint Hosman on September 30th, 2008
So about Interbike……what can I say about Interbike? You all probably have gone to other web sites and read about all the cool new stuff coming out so I wont bother you with the minutia of all that. I was thinking though that a few years ago I wouldn’t have been able to keep my head on straight there. It seems like I have got to the point where new bike stuff just doesn’t matter as much to me as actually having the time to be out riding. That being said the experience was freaking cool.
I got up Thursday night just in time to watch the pro men’s and women’s races at the Crit National Championship. Bryan and I kicked it front row style with the guys from Wounded Warrior at the start finish line. Talk about VIP, we got food, drink the whole nine yards. Thanks so much for that to the WWP.
Of course the girls saw us in the Evomo Gear and they could stay back. I tell you this stuff is like chick magnets to the power of 50. Is that a real measurement for magnets? I don’t know.
Friday it was out to the floor to meet current sponsors and say what’s up to those that have been with us. First off was Jeff Kerkove with Ergon. Talk about great products, I have been using my BD1 pack for almost a year now and love it. For long all day rides it rocks my world and he showed us something even bigger coming out next year.
With this big dog, the BC3, you can load up even more gear and go even farther. If you follow Jeff’s blog, which you should, you will see him using this pack to ride his bike up and over huge mountains, sleeping over then riding back.
On top of this Head Ergon hottie and number one ass kicker Irina Kalentieva was hanging out for lecherous mountain bike fans like Bryan and I to get creepy with. I couldn’t believe how small she is, and she kicks ass, add on top the sweet Russian accent and you have an all together winning combination.
We spoke to team sponsor Tifosi Optics for a while. Great products and huge Evomo Supporters. I am looking forward to working with them in the future as well.
Then more hot girls assaulted us. Next year no Evomo shirts for sure, this just got tiring.
We also caught up with the folks at Simbree. They where cool enough to hook us up with a lot of samples of the product, which we love. Whole food goodness that is hard to beat in a world full of processed gack.
About the time the show was over was when things really got weird. Sedrick showed up out of now where at the hotel room. For my first time meeting him he left quite the impression. Apparently showing up for the show was lame, the parties after where what he was there for. His cousin from France was DJing over at TI and so before we knew it we where off. Look, I am not a party guy, little alone a club guy so when we showed up, walked past the line and right into the VIP section I felt like I was in a 50 Cent video. Add on top of this that apparently every girl in the section was European and had hot accents and it was way to much pressure. Not the best place for a married guy with a weak pension for partying to be. After a couple hours I had to call it quits.
