EVOMO gives lecture 2 Sac State Tri Team
by Mark T. Racer on January 20th, 2009

few weeks ago i got an email asking if i would give a lecture to the sac state triathlon team and cover various topics. i said sure, sounds fun. and fun it was. so yesterday while wearing my EVOMO Flight Shirt & my Battle Skull Beanie, me, 2 of my VENTANA BIKES and 1 QUINTANA ROO BIKE went down to the CSUS aquatic center to meet with members of the team. most of the attendees were new to the sport and havent down their 1st tri yet, and others were seasoned triathletes. the topics i spoke on for an hour and a half were:
· From racing as a junior to accident to recovery to 1st year racing triathlons and to qualifying USA nationals and worlds – all under 1 year
· Transitions – keeping them under 60 seconds
· Nutrition & fueling during your race
· My training week schedule
· Sponsorships

i found out that somebody said i’d be entertaining so i made this as fun as possible. so i typed up bout 5-6 pages of notes and had a ball with it. i just wanted to cover much that i have learned over the last year and pass that info onward. some things i went over i wish when i was 1st starting out, i went to a lecture like this. it would have saved me some hardship of learning the hard way. i also educated them on XTERRA and what XTERRA is about and also mentioned and spoke about my 20 sponsors i now have. all in all it was fun and it was great to offer my availability to the members for any questions or advice they might have, no matter how far fetched the question may be. hey i only got to where i’m at today by asking a million questions to a ton of people. so thanks again sac state tri team for having me speak and i look forward to keeping in contact with you all over the season!!
