I woke up at 5:45am on May 2nd 2009 to represent Evomo East Team to bring the rukus at Cascade Classic MTB Race in Cascade, PA. My fiancé and I arrived at the race at 8:30am to check out the course to find out it was going be a muddy race due to rain the day before; then I headed over to registration to get my race number and goodies after getting everything, I went back to the car to start getting ready since the race started at 10:10am. I raced in sport category was two laps on a handmade course on private land that had everything to throw at you on single track with rock gardens, rock wall crossings; hill climbing, bridge crossings to riding in 3inches of mud at times. I don’t think the 1st lap went so well due to some people that couldn’t ride thru rock gardens and everytime they would crash; you would go down too, but the 2nd lap went so much better which I was happy with; I was thinking at times it felt like a fat person sitting on the rear wheel holding me back going thru this wet course. I finished 9th place out of 15 people in my age group – Time 2 hours and 37 mins. I will be racing next Saturday on May 16th 2009 at R.B Winter State Park for Rocktober Challenge Mountain Bike – XC Rassin in open men class this race is hosted by VisitPA.Com MTB Team.
