Michael Takahashi at Firestone Santa Ynez NMBS

Michael Takahashi is the latest rider to join the Evomo DH Team for 2008. Recently he and Brett Miller both won the overall points in the beginner/sport FOX Racing SHOX Downhill category at the Nationals at Sugar Mountain. This is a great accomplishment for both Takahashi and Miller and its an awesome motivator for taking it to the next level in the 2008 season.

The other day we had a chance to learn a bit about what Michael Takahashi has been up to and where he is going. He always loved riding bicycles as a kid and grew up riding BMX bikes and building jump ramps with his friends. Here is a little interview…

Something you dont hear or read much about are the riders who are married, have kids and are just as competitive as the twenty-something kids. The kids like Shea Jordan and Jami Pellegrino are the guys you typical hear about hitting it big and parting it up.

On the flip side is a guy like Jay Hughen who competes in Observed Trials (also know as bike trials or just trials). Personally, I dont understand how these guys pull this stuff off. If you have not ever seen trials, you need to. These guys can pretty much move their bike from one location to another with out ever putting a foot on the ground or actually…

Shea Jordan rides for Evomo Clothing

We recently hung out with Shea Jordan, Downhill rider for Evomo, and he gave us the scoop on Argentina, dirt jumping and hanging with the Evomo bros. Shea first got into mountain biking only 4 years ago when he was living in Vermont. Then he just used a bike to get back and fourth to town and little by little he started to get into it more and thats when he fell in love with the sport. Besides mountain biking, it seems when Shea is in South America, he enjoys driving cars really fast and out of control. Sounds like a another crazy…

Brett Miller is definitely a unique individual with the strength to recover from injuries more serious than you can imagine. Recently, Brett was awarded the Purple Heart for being injured in combat while serving for the US Army in Iraq. Despite the extent of his injuries, he has recovered enough to be able to race downhill mountain bikes!

Evomo Rider Jami Pellegrino

Jami Pellegrino is one of Evomo’s star Downhill Mountain bikers that has been hitting the local DH race scene and making a name for himself. Thanks to his Dad, who started Adventure Components – a mountain bike company, Jami got exposed to racing and the seed was planted at an early age of 3. He is an all around SoCal “kid” who besides mountain biking likes to get some dirt jumping, moto and even surfs and skates. What doesn’t this guy do!

We had a chance to ask the star mountain biker a few questions recently and it
